José Marques da Silva, a renowned Portuguese architect, left an indelible mark on the city of Porto in the early 20th century. The book "Readings of Marques da Silva" compiles over 20 essays presented at the "(Re)constructing Cities: Cartographies of Marques da Silva and Beyond" conference.

On the cover, through the cutout book title, you see an old image of Porto’s urban territory, as a reference to the architect’s view of the city. To facilitate the reading we applied colour coding to each chapter of the book, and we designed a layout grid where the images run almost always over top of the book.
